🚧 Spring Road Restrictions in Effect 🚧
The RM of Lipton No. 217 would like to advise residents that spring road bans and weight restrictions are now in effect.
With the seasonal thaw underway, many of our roads are currently soft and vulnerable to rutting. We kindly ask for your cooperation in limiting heavy equipment and vehicle traffic on municipal roads wherever possible.
The following roads are currently limited to local traffic only:
- Freeland Road – west of Highway 35
- Range Road 2142 – south of the Village of Lipton
- Township Road 222 – east of Highway 35
We also encourage everyone to use extra caution when traveling, as road conditions can change quickly during the spring melt. As the frost comes out of the ground, roads need time to properly dry before maintenance can begin.
At this time, deploying graders would unfortunately cause more harm than good. As soon as gravel stockpiles thaw, our crews will begin gravelling operations to help restore road conditions.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through the spring thaw season. Thank you for doing your part to help protect our road network!
